Marcia L. Silva and David M. Stahl have been practicing law for over sixty combined years. They are not only experienced attorneys, but members of the community they live and work in. Through their involvement in local government, youth organizations, bar associations, and religious organizations, both David and Marcia are active participants in the Middlesex County area.

Marcia L. Silva
Marcia L. Silva, J.S.C. was appointed as a judge in the Superior Court, Chancery Division-Family Part in Middlesex County in January 2014. While on the bench from 2014 until January of 2021, she handled dissolution, non-dissolution and adoption dockets; she also handled domestic violence and juvenile delinquency matters. She is a founding member of the Aldona E. Appleton Inn of Court and a member of the New Jersey State, Hispanic, and Middlesex County Bar Associations. In 2017, Judge Silva ruled in the published case, Sacklow v. Betts, that the best interest of the child standard should apply when a transgender minor is seeking to have his or her name legally changed. This was a case of first impression in New Jersey.
Prior to her appointment, Judge Silva had been a solo practitioner in East Brunswick and the public defender for South River and South Plainfield. She spent seven years as an assistant prosecutor in the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. Judge Silva has argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division.
Marcia is a frequent panelist for the State Bar Association on topics dealing with child custody, support, and other family law related issues. She is also fluent in Portuguese and conversant in Spanish.

David M. Stahl
David grew up in Seattle, but has called East Brunswick home for over forty years. He spent many years coaching his children in various sports leagues and was President of the East Brunswick Soccer Club. David was a Trustee of Temple B’nai Shalom. He served as a Township councilman and thereafter was elected Mayor twice. David currently sits as a municipal court judge in Woodbridge Township.
Prior to forming Silva & Stahl, LLC, David operated his law practice in East Brunswick for many years servicing the needs of the community in real estate, trusts and estates and other transactional matters. David was a former municipal prosecutor in South River, Piscataway and Woodbridge and David owned two hardware stores, in New York City and Manalapan.
